I am currently out of work for 1-1/2 years. my age is 56, and i have worked for 40 years. 29 years at my last job at a steel plant. I have applied for ssi last October and not heard from them yet. what should be my next move with this ssi claim. I live in Maryland and my finances are slowly dwindling. any information would be greatly appreciated. PS all my medical records are up to date.
